Sakura 4-H Clubs – The Clover Report April 2025

In February the Aloha Girls learned about and hiked through ʻĪao Valley. Uncle Jeremy served as hike guide and led the girls up to the ʻĪao needle. The girls learned that the ʻĪao needle served as a lookout point for ancient Hawaiian scouts. The girls went on a moderate hike passing by the “rainbow man” petroglyph. At the end of the hike, the group was rewarded with a nice cool swim in the ʻĪao stream. Thank you to all the Aloha Girls’ families for coming out on this fun adventure!

The Lōkahi Girls are going back to crochet basics and learning how to make beanies. Their hope is to become skilled enough to make beanies for cancer patients. In February some of our Sakura girls participated in a Movie Night hosted by the Lucky Charmers. They watched Lady and Tramp, ate spaghetti and had fun in their cozy pajamas. This month most of our older Sakura girls are busy preparing for the annual 4-H County Teach-in event in April. Please look forward to hearing about their presentations in next month’s newsletter.
