BWA members, along with members from other BWA units, participated in the Maui Matsuri Children’s Festival event at Queen Kaahumanu Center on May 10th and made various origami that were given to the public. Thank you members for working the children and helping them fold the origami.
The BWA had its General Membership meeting on May 11th, and enjoyed the Mother’s Day brunch prepared by the Scouts.
BWA members attended the Fujimatsuri service held on May 18th and enjoyed a delicious lunch following the service.
BWA sends condolences to the family of Ms. Elaine Shizuko Mori, Long-time BWA member, who passed away in March.

Apple Sweet Bread Pudding

• 1 (16 oz) round sweet bread loaf
• 1 block butter
• 1 (21oz) can Comstock Apple Pie Filling
• ¾ cup sugar
• ½ cup raisins
• 5 beaten eggs
• 2 cups milk
• cinnamon for sprinkling
Break sweet bread into pieces and place in 9×13” pan. Spread apple pie filling over the bread. Sprinkle the raisins. Scald milk; add butter, sugar, and stir until melted. Cool slightly (so that eggs don’t scramble) and mix in the beaten eggs. Pour this over the bread and apple filling. Sprinkle cinnamon over the top. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes
