Spring has been a busy and meaningful season for our BWA members, marked by gatherings, service, and shared celebration across our temple community.
Together with members from Kahului and Makawao, BWA participants attended the Mayor’s Hanamatsuri Proclamation held at the temple on March 30. This spirit of connection continued through the Central Maui Hanamatsuri Service on April 5 and the Hanamatsuri Service on April 12, followed by the BWA General Membership meeting.
Members also joined the MUBWA Spring General Membership Assembly on April 18 at Kahului Hongwanji Mission, strengthening ties with fellow temples across Maui.
Looking ahead, BWA members will assist with the preparation of chow fun for the Maui Matsuri on May 23, continuing a tradition of handson support for temple activities.
The BWA Cookbook Committee has also moved forward with a third printing of the 120th Anniversary cookbook. Please contact Gwen Hiraga if you would like to purchase a copy. The next BWA General Membership meeting will be held on June 14.
We also extend warm birthday wishes to our members born in May: Grace Hamasaki, Sandy Hirata, Mary Tokumaru, and Reverend Murakami.
