What is 4-H? 4-H is a nationally recognized program aimed at providing life skills and munity engagement amongst our youth that also promotes leadership skills and provides opportunities for lifelong learning and friendships. Through hands-on learning, our members gain confidence in public speaking and build positive relationships. 4-H stands for: Head, Heart, Hands, and Health and are the cornerstones of the program.

Sakura 4-H welcomes their newest and youngest club, the Shining Stars! Please also join us on November 3rd, for 4-H Sunday.

The Shining Stars had their 1st 4-H club meeting at Kama’ole III Beach Park. They played two ice breaker games to get to know each other and tossed a beach ball and shared their favorite colors, characters, or movies. Then ended their meeting by playing the “I have!” game and raised their hands if they have ever gone camping or seen a shooting star.

In their last club meeting, the Aloha Girls started off with a fun uplifting bracelet making activity. The girls then worked on pop-up thank you cards. The girls enjoyed working on these activities and spending time together.

The Lōkahi Girls have been working hard continuing with their crochet skills. In October, the girls spent a Saturday at the BWA Craft Fair selling Shaved Ice to fund-raise. It was a great experience and they had fun making friends with their fellow vendors. This year they will also begin to learn about planning events, working within a budget and tracking expenses.

On September 28, 2024 the Mālama Dolphins had our annual garage sale. The Maui County 4-H Officer’s Training was held at UHMC on September 29, 2024. We learned about leadership, our officer positions, watched a mock meeting, and buzzed in our answers as we played a quiz game.
