We regret to report that the preschool sustained critical damage during the Kona Low storm. A leaking roof and moisture have affected the classroom, office, bathrooms, and kitchen walls. Because of these unsafe conditions, we cannot open for the Summer 2026 session, affecting 28 preschool families.
Although this has been a difficult and disappointing time, we are encouraged by the kindness and support we have received. We are working with the Wailuku community to secure a temporary site and plan to reopen in the fall with an expanded program serving 44 families. We are also arranging to relocate classrooms to St. Anthony School while repairs are completed. We are deeply grateful to our temple members, preschool families, and community partners whose encouragement and support remind us that we are not facing this challenge alone. In the months ahead, there will be many opportunities to help—from moving furniture and supplies to assisting with our transition back home. We appreciate your prayers, patience, practical support, and donations as we finalize relocation details and work toward reopening.
Together, we can create an even stronger preschool community for our keiki and families. For questions or to offer help, please contact: Jody L. Fuentes, Director at (808) 244- 9545 or whpreschool808@gmail.com
