The BWA General Membership meeting was held on August 13th. Representatives (Cathy P., John H. and Amy S.) from a A Cup of Cold Water attended the meeting and shared their programs and their experiences in working with the homeless. They explained what they do, who they serve, acceptable donations and extended their appreciation for the BWA’s donation of Peanut Butter and Jelly (PBJ) sandwiches. BWA members prepare the PBJ sandwiches for delivery on the 3rd Thursday of the month. Starting September, BWA members will provide sandwiches on the 1st and 3rd Thursdays of the month. Thank you to those individuals that have volunteered to prepare the sandwiches.

The 2023 Autumn Craft and Food Fair will be held on October 21st from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. A few tables are still available. The deadline for vendor registration and payment is September 11, 2023.
Coffee Jello

1/2 cup cold coffee
3 packs Gelatin
1 1/2 cup hot coffee
1 can condensed milk
Dissolve gelatin in cold coffee; add hot coffee and stir well. Add condensed milk and stir. Pour liquid mixture into a pot and cook on low heat, stirring constantly, until well mixed. *Optional: Add 1 packet of instant coffee to mixture before heating.
Pour into a 9’x9’ pan and refrigerate until hardened
The BWA had its food sales table for Obon on July 28th and 29th. Many thanks to our members who assisted with food preparation, baking and packaging of delicious home-made items and doing a shift (or two) at the sales table. We are truly grateful for the donations from BWA members and to all who the purchased the various food items.
The next Hosha day is scheduled for Thursday, September 7th, at 8:00 a.m. All temple members are welcomed to join our dedicated BWA members in helping with Hosha.
