BWA members cleaned the kitchen in preparation for an on site consultation inspection required for the Department of Health permitted food establishment kitchen. The team got rid of “old” food items from the refrigerator and pantry, moved the 3 coffee makers off of the floor, threw old newspaper and paper bags, cleaned the sinks, and cleaned the stove and oven area. They also noticed a leak and reported it to Eric Ikeuchi for repairs.

Huge thanks to Gail Hamai, Sylvia Ishikawa and Margaret Honda for their help with the cleaning. And thank you to Eric Ikeuchi for helping us with moving the trash bags to the dumpster.

To maintain the certified kitchen status, it is recommended that deep cleanings of the kitchen, especially the stove and oven, should be done quarterly or every six months. The reason is because the Department of Health (DOH) will likely conduct unannounced inspections.

Thank you, to all, for your help!
